Chicken is better meat than beef.
If you eat a chicken, then you won't have to smell his bad breath.

It's easy to control the chicken population.
Start with two yummy Yagami nuggets, deep fried and dipped in mustard sauce.
He won't cause too much trouble after that.

FYI "english" is a proper noun and is always capitalized.

I would also like to suggest that the seminar cover the proper use of pronouns.

A proper Pepper sentance is comprised of multiple blocks of both periods and commas. They should be mixed together mid-string to achieve the full effect.

Alysa - Queen's English

If you try to eat a dracon, you'll get indigestion. That's when the problems start.

Due to the problem of a certain dracon urinating in the punchbowl at the last seminar, Yagami (an evil dracon,) will be banned.

i'd like to add a topic for the seminar:

when to use "which" and when to use "that". does anyone else get constantly corrected by their grammar check when trying to use one of these words?

You've gotta be a real stickler to care about that rule. Theory is, that belongs in restrictive clauses and which works with nonrestrictive clauses.

So what the heck are those? Restrictive clauses define what you're talking about. Nonrestrictive clauses give additional information about something you've already defined by context.

Still sounds like gobbledygook? Think of it this way: people rarely use nonrestrictive clauses.

I post to the thread that discusses grammar.
The grammar thread, which threatened to wander off topic, keeps getting substantive questions and replies.

The first example uses that because the clause defines the subject. The second thread's clause is parenthetical. If you know how to use commas then you know how to use that and which.

Some experts make an exception in the interest of readability. Once in a while the normal rule would force you to write a sentence with "...that that..." What an ugly sight! When this would happen, switch the second that to which regardless of whether the clause is restrictive.

Got it?
