Can someone please explain why the quest wasn't successfully completed? I'm pretty sure you can't pick up the black moss traps without disarming them first, so I don't understand why it seemed to have vanished and and without warning...thanks.

An atrocious, saliva-curdling smell grows stronger and stronger, closer
to its obvious source. This place is already barely large enough to crawl
through on hands and knees, and the smell isn't doing anything to improve
the situation. An odor like the maggot-writhing body of raccoon after two
weeks in the sun wafts through, hampering any possible progress that could
be made in such a constrained space.
You pant and gasp, trying to catch your breath.

One more question about another quest: I spent about 20-30 minutes killing an npc for a required trap item, but when I looted the item it exploded and disappeared. Can you disarm traps inside corpses or is there some other way to loot them without them exploding?

I've tested the black moss, both the trap and disarmed versions, a dozen times over now. Picking them up from the ground, putting them in my trunk, getting them from my trunks, and every time the trap versions disappear they trigger and cast poison first. The disarmed black moss are stable and don't have the "trap" flag anymore after they are disarmed. So I have absolutely no idea why the moss in my log disappeared without any warning.

It's been 240 game minutes since my last post and the moss has not decayed. I thought the issue was with the moss, but maybe there is something wrong with the quest.

I believe if you wait for the corpse to decay the items inside drop to the ground. You could then disarm the trap.

There are ways to do this. For 20 pracs, I'd hope for a little imagination and patience.

Evidently, there are also ways to fail due to bugs. Oh wait, this is not a bug it's a "feature". Like the murderbeast. Designed to enhance gameplay. Not to make the game more frustrating. Got it.
