Hi all,

We need some help with quests for the fall. Ideally, there'd be two to four per questmaster, with the levels being spread around so everyone can do them. And it's also possible they can be longer than the average quest (more goals). We can also have variations of each quest for different level ranges, so perhaps when you make one quest, submit variations of that for different questmasters as well.

The quests should be fall-themed, and will become available at questmasters around September/October/November, every year, from now on.

The fall in Alyria - you can go with the leaves changing color, with the harvest coming in (farmers), with some pumpkins/gourds (although not All Spirits' Eve-related), fall fruits and other foods, turkey, cornucopias, other Thanksgiving-related items (although keep in mind, we don't have Thanksgiving in Alyria, but you can weave in "time to give thanks" etc.). The theme of "feasting" can also be used. If anyone else has ideas along this milieu, let me know.

So if everyone can design some good quests (good spelling and grammar is a definite must - no typos, quests should be ready to enter), that would be very helpful and I'll give the good quests (i.e., the ones that get added) 2.5 RU apiece, along with some of the special rewards we may add to these quests.

Oh, and if anyone has ideas for special reward items we can give out, let me know. These should be time-limited items, possibly some temporary buff items as well as a few fun season-related things.

Aye, great season indeed!
Anyway-

Description of The incredible harvester:
At this time of the year our farmers are working hard on gathering every bushel of food from our rich land and storing it for the cold winter to come.
As they say, life is short and the work is aplenty!
However, my mind gave birth to an idea to revolutionize farming.
Firstly you should check how the harvest is proceeding thus far, make your own notes and contact Ganuk. The mechanic is a vast pool of engineering knowledge, and I want him to sketch me a model of a revolutionary farming tool that will help speed up the harvest.
The general guidelines for the tool are stated on this slip of parchment. Do as Ganuk bids and help him with the process of gathering the materials needed.
See me with the plan and the materials before I authorize the construction.
Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive up
to ? quest points, ? practice points, ? experience points, and ? gold pieces.
You have ? minutes remaining to complete this quest.
The incredible harvester consists of:

Quest #2:

Questmaster: Lord Agrippa
This quest is called 'The loud Scarecrow', for Adventurers levels x to y.
Description of The loud Scarecrow:
The harvest is upon us and so are the incessant flocks of hungry birds!
Pigeons and crows are robbing us from the products that should last us a whole winter. I don't wish my people to starve through the cold and harsh winter of Sepharia, we have to remove the winged pests by any means possible.
Show the peasants a way to use basic magic to kill some of the pests, recover some noise making devices that will scare the hungry birds away, recruit and arm city dwellers to help battle the birds. Quest #3:

Questmaster: Lord Vendredi
This quest is called 'Sorrow and Recovery', for Adventurers levels x to y.
Description of Sorrow and Recovery:
This is a very sensitive time for all of us, especially the farmers of the land.
Last night a farmer was robbed and half of his stock released into the wilds by robbers from abroad, his gold stolen and his tools laid to waste.
I'm going to make an example of these pitiful bandits. Witnesses say the bandits used the Riddenmast Ferry to cross the great waters to the land of Sepharia, track them and their accomplices down and destroy them.
Gold will replace his tools with new ones and reimburse him for his losses, but his spirit is down. We need all the farmers to work as hard as possible, the time of the harvest is at hand and speed is the name of the game.
Bring unique gifts from across the sea to the robbed farmer, let him know that his Lord supports him during his hard times.
Make haste and good luck!

Quest #4:

Questmaster: Lord Vendredi
This quest is called 'The sea upon the land', for Adventurers levels x to y.
Description of The sea upon the land:
Alas, a great annoyance is upon us! The farmers are busy with the harvest and some pranksters see this as an opportunity to pull out nasty tricks upon the hardworking lads of the land. If only they knew how they depend on those farmers!
Bodies of whales appear to be strewn across the fields, poisoning the land with their decay. It appears that some naughty pranksters magically levitated the dead whales washed ashore during last week's storm and dropped them over the fields.
It renders great parts of the crop fields inaccessible and the emitted stench is simply unbearable! We have to haul out these rotten bodies, our farmers can't work with such overwhelming fumes of rotting cetacean flesh.
Contract the strongest individuals in Sigil, recruit the help of mighty beasts and remove the disturbance. Some of these pranksters are adept shape shifters disguising themselves as little girls and honest religious men, find them and punish them!
Spare no time, much work is to be done!
Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive up

Can I just say I truly do appreciate the IMMS for trying to come up with new ways of making this game more interesting. And these quests are a good idea. But honestly I have'nt recieved one yet that I can complete. If I could write them I would, but I really don't know enough about the game to do so.
Is there anywhere to get hints for some of these yet?

Do you want hints for the ones I've written? Because I can give you hints. Just SAY it.
Oh, and if you wish to know where the chicken's egg is from, I can tell you that as well, even though it's easier on me within the game where it's comfortably aliased.

Cheerios

Questmaster: Lord Vashir
This Quest is called 'Field trip for modern bards', for adventurers level 40 to 90.
Description of Field trip for modern bards:

Harvest celebrations are being held all over Alyria and our town, even while unfamiliar to pastoral life, shall not be an exception. As you may know, the bardic arts were originally cultivated by errant individuals who travelled across the pastoral lands of this and other continents long before cities as we know them were even conceived. Nowadays, even when the bond bards once held with the land has almost disappeared, some classical pastoral songs still performed refer to the wonderful rural places those ancient bards encountered upon their journeys. I'm afraid few of our modern bards have ever visited such places, as the prosperous growth of our town had long left the pastoral culture behind. I want to organize a trip so these bards could find the inspiration to hold our Harvest celebration on the occasion of the visit of a real Harvest Queen, as what our town has in beauty, riches and cultural life it lacks on harvests to name a queen of!

Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive up
to ? quest points, ? practice points, ? experience points, and ? gold pieces.
You have ? minutes remaining to complete this quest.
Field trip for modern bards consists of:

Phase 1: Recover a yellow dandelion
Phase 2: Recover a plum
Phase 3: Recover a snare drum
Phase 4: Journey to Before a Mysterious Tree (Rune Forest)
Phase 5: (Hidden until Previous Goal is Completed) Visit a travelling bard
Phase 6: Journey to The Ofstadt Lemon Tree (Ofstadt Monastery)
Phase 7: Journey to Where the Sheep Are (Gilvery)
Phase 8: Journey to Elaborate Gardens (New Rigel)
Phase 9: Journey to A Small Crop of Cotton (Theolaven)
Phase 10: (Hidden until Previous Goal is Completed) Visit a black Auryn bull
Phase 11: (Hidden until Previous Goal is Completed) Visit a lost sheep
Phase 12: (Hidden until Previous Goal is Completed) Visit The royal gardener
Phase 13: (Hidden until Previous Goal is Completed) Locate and deliver a crown of thorns to Avriel, the farmer's daughter

On the deliver phases for my quest, I was informed that the required shops cant even handle one instance of this quest, much less multiple instances. Either the shop stocks will have to be increased significantly or the deliver phases will have to be decreased to 1 or completely removed.

For those of you getting scared - I'm probably going to break up some of the larger quests suggested here into multiple ones or multi-phased quests. I think once we have quest saving/loading it won't be as big of a deal to have quests with 30 goals etc., but until then (soon, though) I think that the quests should be doable in one sitting.

We're also adding the ability for quest chains, which means you'll be able to string together one-time quests, once you finish one the next one in the chain becomes available, etc.

Will only imms get the ability to "yank a player's chain" or will players be able to "yank their own chain"? :D
