I wasn't suggesting giving them what they want either, Csia. As I stated before - this change benefits me greatly.

I just think we can have some sanity here.

I fail to see how the proposed solution is insane.

I agree with Matt on this. The people need to be compensated correctly, not some half assed resolution. Also, someone made the comment of people being selfish in this game. Who cares? I know I sure don't play this game for you guys. As for the o/s relics, I know this change helps me since I don't have any. I have 1 item of gear that has a relic in it and it is no way OP.

Csia, your calling names does nothing but diminish the point you are trying to make. So you fail. Neostar, I was commenting on the point of 'haves' and 'have nots' by bringing everyone down to the same level. It was more of a indirect comment that pertains to their line of thought.

Personally, I feel for Chaosfire and the other people who took the time to stock up on these relics. They put a ton of effort into it while most of us played the type of game we wanted to. (pk, questing, sitting in social) If you want to talk about selfish, how about taking a look in the mirror.

So wanting balance for the game, regardless of the butthurt it might cause, is selfish? Honestly.

You just want it your way due to being lazy and not taking the time like Chaosfire did right? There is a gap in gear because some people put in more time and effort. He had a plan and he worked at it. If you had done the same thing as him you would be bitching too.

Are relics dead yet?

From the word go, relics became absurdly overpowered. Nothing has changed, yet all the owners of the absurdly op relics are crying due to their stocks value plummeting. ohwell.

Did relics benefit me? Arguably. I sold rare relics when they were high. Why you ask?; Common sense. Something that powering is always going to get nerfed.

At the comment about valk and bard being OP - bard just had severe debuffing. see : slow & slow magic. hinder is now half as useful. Valk : see low raw damage ability. There are exceptions, such as ogre valk/bard, but even then, poor stat card, horrid sp... overall balance. great meatshield for runs.

The game has for as long as i remember been plagued with 'this is op/that is op' most of it is entirely derived from player point of view. The game will always be plagued with this. Its just the way its going to work.

Relics are overpowering in their current state. even with the 'new stat' relics. Any player able to add 300hp/sp, +20ar or +30 saving throw to their current equipment set via binding relics is overpowered. period. Giving a player the ability to wear another races saving throw via one or two pieces of equipment is going to cause balancing issues. Giving a player the ability to wear an additional few hundred hp/sp is going to cause balancing issues. AR buffs after the change... I thought the ar change was purposely used to cause a spread between saves and ar. To allow larger races to benefit from their higher vitals and AR over smaller races high saves(something about a +10 sv all throw ring being made unique comes to mind...).

Maybe I am perceiving this wrong. Either way, relics in a whole need a refacing. or removal. Yes, the 'common' relics arent helpful much at all. Sure, for low to mid levels a free +1 or +2 stat relic is helpful when needing to stack in some additional stats for leveling/mobbing. debatebly yes, +personality relics are ultimately valueless. The relics that really matter are the saves, + damage and +vitals. They all need to go on the wayside imho. Relics should add stats and skills buffs. perhaps make rare relics give random scripts. ie coccyx tail eq.

For all those that are about to post TLDR, flame on.

Assuming that I don't have a pile of demigod stones because I'm lazy is pretty dumb of you. I don't PK, and had no interest in spending tons of time and money to get such items. It's just not something I ever wanted to do. If this change goes through, I'm still not going to PK or use relics. The idea that I'm now somehow jealous of Chaosfire or any other relic hoarder and want to screw them out of spite is, like most of what you've said on this thread, ridiculous.

I'm all for a gap in gear that's actually a result of the things you list here. I'm not for a gap in gear that's caused by items that no longer exist and cannot be obtained in such a form, anomalies that shouldn't even exist.

Such "plans" are disrupted by game changes all the time. For example, mights were a staple of my "good" gear, as I have low SP. When they were changed, it was annoying for me, but I got over it because I'm not a whiny prick. The scale of this change is much larger, but the principle remains the same. The game changes.

Amen! Saitok - I respect you tenfold for this statement. I wish more players could embrace this point of view. what ever happened to the mm where we enjoyed it for fun, not stat monging, or pk records...

Saitok - best statement of the whole thread. Well - now imma quit because i cant get vass to reimburse me for all of my donated dollars to MM!!! lol

I can remember countless nerfs to my path/gearset, yet i still poke my head around.

Fine, it diminishes it. However, considering you didn't reply to any of it, I'd say you fail. Besides, if we want to look for calling names, I'm pretty sure we all have some amusing logs of you losing in pk and just flipping out. Or when you get delayed and also just flip out.

Lastly, if you're going to post on this thread, how about you read the arguments put forth before you post and try to reply to those. It's already been explained like three times why this makes sense, and you posting the equivalent of "nuh-uh" doesn't really contribute to the discourse here.

P.S. You are not very smart, or good at this game. Why do they let you be a guide? You're almost as bad, if not worse, than Forral, and just as disgraceful to the guide tag.

I think it is funny how upset you are getting because I disagree with you. You have to resort to name calling and insults to make yourself feel better. You are and have always been a troll Csia. :boohoo:

I wouldn't go as far as saying Csia is a troll, but members of clan 110 have always supported and defended anything Duende says without question.

Duende is the republican party, and clan 110 is Fox news.

Close, but I always imagined us more akin to the Koch brothers or maybe even Karl Rove. You'd like to think you know our intentions but are always left wondering if there isn't more to it.

"Troll" is like hipster: both sides claim it of the other, and it's probably true for either.
