So, today I saw a bit of friction on this subject. It seems a portion of the player base feels paladin needs fast healing. Personally, I feel paladin does not need this skill. Having had it before Duende removed fast healing from ranger I can say that it is very helpful. Especially with paladin. However, paladin receives consecrate armor. Instead, why not improve consecrate armor, make it obtainable via mini quest similar to consecrate weapon and strip it from priest?

Doing so would allow it to be accessible to all players willing to obtain it, making it less of an "expensive" spell due to it's current location. Empower consecrate armor to grant more regenerative properties, placing it in line with fast healing. Paladin is geared towards being a spells reliant warrior.

One issue with consecrate armor is that some items are magically resistant. With all of the favored equipment, why not produce another RU item to remove this flag? It would allow the spell more range amongst gear.

Finally, there was an issue with paladin being an alignment based class. Why not allow paladin to select an alignment they prefer by worshipping a malignant or benevolent deity? Doing so, allow paladin to use their spells reflecting the alignment of religion they worship. So, evil paladins can consecrate negatively aligned items.

It seems alignment enforcing races is difficult and tends to result in large amounts of upset.

Really, the bulk of paladin feels fine to me. Yet, some players have long wanted to play as evil paladins. I believe there were comments about solus and duende having issues over this subject. Either way, I have no issues with these subjects. Simply my thoughts over a subject on pktalk today.

Boosting Consecrate Armor to the level of Fast Healing would only further strengthen Gnome and Half-Elf paladins.

While not every high end chest piece is magic-resistant a large portion are, which if I remember correctly is the HP-Regen wear location with Consecrate Armor. Making players pay RU to remove a flag is stupid. Armor and Weapons don't need to be Magic Resistant.

It's simple, give Paladins fast healing or just raise base regen rates to the level of Fast Healing and re-work Fast Healing. There don't need to be new skills added or really changed.

Empowering cons armor will not force players into doing anything beyond what endgame does. Such as it makes players purchase a spell delivery amulet and aura. Never mind all of the favors that are purchased for items that are "just fine as is" which players want to protect. Also, just because the game is free, does not mean it is "free".

Perhaps the solution is to remove fast healing as a racial skill.

Either way, it sounds like the issue is mostly gnome and to a lesser extent half-elf.

Might not want to reintroduce fast healing to Pal or Ranger but it might be possible to have a Rapid heal spell or meditation like thing that requires attention that works faster than fast healing and sleeping. Possibly cast on self or group that is a short duration spell that lasts for a min or two. Thinking something like heal spells but spread out over a short period of time similar to sleeping with fast healing but more affective. Down side is it has to be cast and breaks on movement or action.

Could have a regen buff spell that heals hp without the variable heal scale so regens quicker overall over a period of time that also helps regen spell points slightly and possibly stamina to a lesser extent. This can be a wake spell though the trade off could be less spell points and stamina of regenerated but has better hp regen.

NAME
bathe - heals your damage over time

SYNOPSIS
cast bathe

DESCRIPTION
This spell bathes the caster in Ithrilis' grace, healing them over time.
The spell will be less effective if healing occurs during battle, since
blood loss is not typically conducive to sanctity and grace. The amount by
which the caster is healed is directly correlated to Ithrilis' benevolence.
