Better yet the trophy could be like a fountain or something placed in your home and would not be able to be picked up.

There were supposed to be trophies given out last year. I never saw one appear in Pollacca's clanhall though.

Small rant here....

Im sorry - but there should be some restrictions on the sites. There is nothing more aggrivating then to lose to a website thats only up for the contest and will never be seen again. A lot of us work year round on our websites - only to lose to a website that does nothing to the MM community other than boost a players character.

Perhaps this year, maybe have a catagoy dedicated to websites that promote the RP aspects fo the game - not just teh techie stuff?

What if you run several websites?

I think Immortals take that into account. I believe Frese de mai or whatever got brownie points for it.

Is there a non-game related category?

*wants to submit gheysites.com* :|

Actually the last contest did not, but they are working on ways to do this. Among my suggestions was offering clans a reduced tax if they maintain an active site and paying the prizes out over time. Also, the judges should take into account the likelihood of a site going down shortly after the contest.

I also feel that the judging and criteria should be much more open. Last year we were promised some kind of scorecard and comments from judges, but I never saw anything of the sort. It's also possible that the judges did not quite understand each category and were unable to score properly. The one category that struck me as most misunderstood was the "speed loading" which is easy to accomplish with a simple static HTML site but can't be compared to a site with dynamic content. Lots of other things.

I also think there should be at least one award for a site voted for by players.

I agree with Clarriker last year there was some very nice sites in the comp that went about a month after the comp finished, to me its really disapointing to see all that work just to try to win and nothing more.

Well then it sounds like we need a "most improved" category for sites who are entering again and show real improvement (not just dead site that was redesigned).

Hey Vass, this is way off topic, but what do you know about the origins of 'spirits-trapped-in-wood' legends?

I remember thinking it was a really cool idea when I saw it on Twin Peaks. Then I saw it elsewhere, including that wand site, and realized it seems to be a pretty old notion. I'm kind of curious about how it got started.

Are Wiccans the people who make all that wicker furniture?

I'm bias on the issue, so i shouldn't say much, but i would appreciate a score card of the judges decisions, anon. of course, can't have judges being affected ingame for decisions.

i would like a player voted site too, but thats too easy to manipulate with alts, even high levle alts, there are most definately ways around it, i just cant think of them right now.

I'm very very very kindly asking (not demanding or pushing) if there is a target date for when we will know more.

Thanks you :)

I think they should announce it tomorrow and call the judging the week after. Everyone should be prepared by now!

I think they should not have one just to spite everyone who's whined about it.
